他一直要找我約會。

動詞 keep 當"繼續做"解釋時,後面跟著動名詞。名詞 date 是指(異性間的)約會。

Not too long ago, there's no way I could have ever imagined doing this.

在不久前,我絕不可能會想像做這件事。

動詞 imagine 當"想像;設想"解釋時, 後面只能跟動名詞。

  • 我不能忍受被忽視。
  • I can't endure to be ignored.
  • I can't endure being ignored.

動詞 endure 當"經歷、忍受"解釋時,後面跟著動名詞。

  • 我太太提及前幾天有見到你。
  • My wife mentioned to see you the other day.
  • My wife mentioned seeing you the other day.

動詞 mentioned 當"提及、說起"解釋時,後面跟著動名詞。

  • 我盡量不在週六去購物。
  • I try to avoid to go shopping on Saturdays.
  • I try to avoid going shopping on Saturdays.

動詞 avoid 後面習慣用名詞或動名詞。
